Deze webcam bevindt zich in het Madame Tussauds op De Dam te Amsterdam.

Madame Tussauds is de naam van verscheidene wassenbeeldenmusea in Londen, Amsterdam, New York, Las Vegas, Hongkong, Shanghai en Berlijn. De vestiging in Amsterdam werd in 1971 geopend in een gebouw aan de Kalverstraat. Markant hierbij was het wassen beeld van de vaste portier bij de ingang. 20 jaar later verhuisde het museum naar de Dam in het gebouw van Peek & Cloppenburg.

De webcam kijkt uit op het Nationaal Monument op N 52° 22.371 E 004° 53.617.

Het Nationaal Monument op de Dam in Amsterdam is het belangrijkste monument voor de herdenking van de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Nederland. Het monument staat centraal bij de jaarlijkse Nationale Dodenherdenking op 4 mei, bijgewoond door de koning. Het bouwwerk staat in de Top 100 Nederlandse monumenten 1940-1958.

De webcam kijkt ook uit op het Koninklijk Paleis op N52° 22.383 E 004° 53.549.

Het Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam is een paleis op de Dam in de binnenstad van Amsterdam. Het paleis is in gebruik door het Koninklijk Huis als ontvangstpaleis en wordt gebruikt voor tentoonstellingen.
Het werd tussen 1648 en 1665 gebouwd als stadhuis, naar ontwerp van architect Jacob van Campen. Het bouwwerk geldt als Nederlands belangrijkste historische en culturele monument van de Gouden Eeuw. Het Paleis op de Dam is venster nummer 24 van de Canon van Amsterdam.

The webcam shows the National Monument at N 52° 22.371 E 004° 53.617.

The National Monument is a 1956 World War II monument on Dam Square in Amsterdam. A national Remembrance of the Dead ceremony is held at the monument every year on 4 May to commemorate the casualties of World War II and subsequent armed conflicts.

The webcam also shows the Royal Palace at N52° 22.383 E 004° 53.549.

The Royal Palace in Amsterdam is one of three palaces in the Netherlands which are at the disposal of the monarch by Act of Parliament.
The palace was built as a city hall during the Dutch Golden Age in the 17th century. The building became the royal palace of King Louis Napoleon and later of the Dutch Royal House. It is situated on the west side of Dam Square in the centre of Amsterdam, opposite the War Memorial and next to the Nieuwe Kerk.
