Search along longitude E6 to locate the QCache on the rim of The Golden Valley, near the village of Enscherange in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Enjoy the mixed woodland-farmland landscape and visit the Solar Circle to learn how to determine your location without GPS, using the sun and a clock.
Enscherange is a small village in the commune of Kiischpelt, in the mountainous region of northern Luxembourg. Except for the water mill, the last working mill in the Clerve valley, there are no tourist attractions. Enscherange is considered a Dutch 'enclave', because many of the 180 inhabitants are of Dutch origin, often elderly people who bought or built a (second) home in an idyllic landscape of rolling hills and forests and streams.
In the summer holiday season, Dutch visitors outnumber the natives by far. Most of them stay on Camping Val d'Or, owned by, again, a Dutch couple. The camping ground stretches out into the Golden Valley, that derives its name from the yellow-golden flowers of the common Broom (Brem) that color the slopes in spring and early summer.

N 50° 00.000 E 006° 00.000: The Solar Circle
The Solar Circle is a circular pavement of small cobblestones with the cardinal directions marked. The recently built monument is situated on The One and Only (GCA329) degree confluence point in Luxembourg. Take your time to study the information board and learn about geographical coordinate systems, the fundamentals of space and time and the astronomy behind the change of seasons and length of day.
Though by now you may have learned to navigate using the sun as a compass, we strongly advise to rely on your GPSr to get back to your car.
