Description
Voormalige buitenplaats Groenhoven
Dit is een korte wandeling van zo'n 3 km. Het kan modderig zijn bij nat weer en er is een risico op stekelplanten bij de verstopplek.
Bij ons in de achtertuin ligt dit fraaie landschapspark aan de rand van Oud-Zuilen. Ooit hoorde dit bij een buitenplaats. (Wikipedia: "Een buitenplaats, hofstede, landhuis of kortweg buiten is een (zomer)verblijf voor rijke stedelingen.")
Het buitenhuis werd afgebroken in 1902, maar het parkbos met vijver dat rond 1800 werd aangelegd is grotendeels bewaard gebleven. Ook de boomgaard en weides (nu natuurgebied) zijn er nog. Het parkbos met vijver is ook te bezichtigen, maar met deze wandeling kom je daar niet doorheen.
Wij gaan hier vaak een rondje wandelen, en hebben hier in het verleden ook geocaches gevonden. Deze bestaan tegenwoordig allemaal niet meer, dus hoog tijd om daar verandering in te brengen.
