Welcome to opencaching.nl, the geocaching website for the BeNeLux! This website has a lot to offer and is completely free of use! Just make a new account and start to explore. You can find the well known caches, but we offer also other cachetypes like Virtual, Moving, Webcam, MP3 (Podcast) and own caches who are not available on other sites. Of course we would like to see only good and beautiful caches and no gritcaches such as nano and micro on not liked places.
Important is the way we approve new caches, the first 3 we do approve and the rest you do yourself! Also we offer with one push at a button on My neighborhood a overview of everything that happens in your neighborhood: new treasures, FTF that are waiting, the latest logs, etc.

newsImage 15-09-2025 Opencaching.nl op Mastodon (Author: STEELBAS)

Sinds kort is Opencaching.nl ook actief op Mastodon, het ethisch verantwoorde alternatief op de grotere sociale media! We gaan proberen hier in ieder geval maandelijks een bericht op te plaatsen.

 

Hier zijn wij te vinden: https://social.opencaching.earth/@benelux. Of zoek op @benelux@opencaching.earth als je op Mastodon ingelogd bent.

 

Mastodon is onderdeel van de Fediverse—een netwerk van platforms die onderling met elkaar kunnen communiceren. Mastodon is te vergelijken met Twitter, maar je hebt ook Pixelfed (wat lijkt op Instagram), Friendica (Facebook) en zelfs Peertube (YouTube). Gebruikers van één platform kunnen comments en likes achterlaten op pagina's van alle andere platforms. En het is allemaal open-source en gedecentraliseerd, waardoor niet één groot bedrijf het voor het zeggen heeft (noch bepaalt wat gebruikers al dan niet zien!).

We hopen dat we via Mastodon meer gebruikers kunnen aanspreken die open staan voor goede alternatieven op grote commerciële platforms. Dat zijn wij zelf tenslotte ook!

    Tijdens de recherche voor ons blog over OPENCACHING heb ik deze cache (op een regenachtig dag) op de OC-kaart gezien en nu ook gelogd.
